Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk have signed Eduardo from Arsenal on a four-year deal. The 27-year-old Croatia forward has made the switch to Eastern Europe for a reported fee of £6million after three years in North London. He made 41 Premier League appearances during his time at the Emirates, but was never regarded as a regular starter by manager Arsene Wenger. Eduardo moved to the Gunners for £7.5million from Dinamo Zagreb in July 2007, but suffered a horror injury playing against Birmingham in February 2008. The Brazilian-born attacker suffered a broken left fibula and an open dislocation of his left ankle following a challenge from Martin Taylor. He made his comeback a year later but has drawn a close to his Arsenal career following his switch to the Ukrainian champions. A statement on Shakhtar's official website said: "FC Shakhtar have signed Eduardo Da Silva from Arsenal. "All the details were agreed tonight (Wednesday) at Donbas Arena in Donetsk." Before he got injured he seemed like a top notch player. Maybe a new challenge will get him back to his best. |

You think so? I always thought he just needed to build his confidence up again and then it wouldnt be a problem. Good luck to him. It must be weird tho moving from country to country, not speaking the language etc. |

Yeah you maybe right. Well Wenger clearly thinks he is finished or he wouldnt have sold him at a loss would he. |

He was such a lethal finisher in his first season, its so unfair I hope Taylor is disgusted with himself, look what he has effectively done, ended a potentially fantastic career, good one dude |
