The start of a new decade, and perhaps the start of a new era at TFN. As far as the football goes, the African Cup of Nations and the January transfer window have both been overshadowed by the electrifying football on display. This month saw United dump the bitter boys out of the Carling Cup semi-final (the biggest game in their history) in scintillating style, whilst United also demolished Arsenal a matter of days later at fortress Emirates. The title race is well and truly back on despite Chelsea having an unbeaten month, in which the African Cup of Nations did not jeopardise their title aspirations. On that subject, the tournament was marred by the Togo coach saga. Our thoughts go out to those effected. In the Championship, it appears to be a three horse race, with Newcastle, West Brom and Nottingham Forest upstaging the rest of the chasing pack thus far. Charlton Athletic are stuttering and Leeds and Norwich now look firm favourites for automatic promotion to the Championship. As far as the FA Cup goes, Chelsea are the only big four club competing, with Spurs and City being their two potential threats. On the tennis scene, Roger Federer notched up his 16th Grand Slam title in convincing fashion, beating world class Andy Murray in the final. Roger Federer is quite clearly the greatest sportsman of all-time, and we should treasure every remaining moment of his wonderful career. The main controversy in January involved the introduction of the Match Day Café ban. If wumming was flammable, Flak certainly got his hose out so it’s no wonder Stacie was so supportive of the new punishments. Whilst some took their suspensions on the chin, others protested, and this melodrama swarmed the forum for the next seven days, with Azbo taking the exit door. In spite of this, TFN remains a thriving forum ideal for discussing the game we love, and the rest of the season remains an exciting prospect. Poster of The Month - Competition was limited last month and so LFC19TITLES wins the award for a first time. Forum Legend - It’sRedInRussia. |

No he didn't. The bias towards Man United and the legend bit at the end made me think so, but he wouldn't have said effected, he would have said affected. I think flak should stick to it in future. |
