It's nearly Christmas
|
And what a month we’ve had again. As we are now truly in the dark side of the years, floods have plagued Britain, Sinterklaas* has arrived in the Netherlands with his gifts for all the kids, and, oh yeah the premier league has had an interesting month too. Harry’s Hatchetmen destroyed poor Wigan. Rafa has now lost Liverpool the Champions League too. At least his 7 defenders managed to keep Everton from making his tenure even more shameful. Another compatriot of mine with an impossibly long name has arrived almost unnoticed at Hull. Fergie thinks united need to be within 1 point of Chelsea by Christmas. Maybe the refs should give him a bit more time? Our favourite Israeli grumpy man has returned to save pompey, or is he just there cause he suits the mood of the club? And then there is Manchester City of course. Trying very hard to create a record number of draws. Hughes seems content with that goal. Robinho won’t go to Barca, oh yes he will, no he won’t, yes he will… well you can catch my drift. I asked Sinterklaas for a city win. Zola seems to have found the scoring button at West Ham (magic pasta ingredients?) but now needs to find some magic pizza to stop them leaking goals. On a positive note FC Twente are still dominating the Eredivisie. McLarens men are still 2 points clear of PSV on the top. Ajax are scoring like mad but they are still 5 points of the top. In more positive news, Ireland wont be appearing at this years World Cup just like FIFA wanted. * Sinterklaas or Sint Nicolaas or simply The Sint, lives in spain. Comes to the Netherlands once a year in his steamboat with a burlap sack full of pressies. Has black servants called zwarte piet and delivers the pressies to the kids that have been good at 5 december. Kiddies that have been bad go in the burlap sack back to spain (accusations of child labour have been strenuously denied by de Sint) Board stats: Open 27 months, 463 members and 600,000 posts. ----- TFN news #1 - TFN's top 25 favourite players The votes are in for the forum members' top 25 current Premier League players. The top five being 5. Ryan Giggs, 4. Didier Drogba, 3. Steven Gerrrrard, 2. Paul Scholes and 1. Fernando Torres. Torres might have been voted number one but he's not better than Van Persie at playing in Arsenal's system. ----- TFN news #2 - Awards for November Poster of the month: Inglorious BarcaTed retains the crown for a second month! The rest of you should pull your bloody fingers out... Best topic starter: LFC19TITLES for his valuable contribution Well done to all. congrats ted ![]() *takes a bow* Thank you for the kind comments Yeah goonie he has denied that too Zwarte Piet translates as Black Pete too .... It's a very old tradition and yeah the issue of racism occasionally comes up around this time of year. However no-one has yet felt the need to truly blow their top about it....

A bit like santa then except santa ain't racist but an elf slaver very old tradition that. There is some evidence the fact they are black has to do with the fact that they deliver the pressies by going through the chimney's and leaving the pressies
