the iraq war was brought about by saddam insanes continued breaches of u.n. resolutions.
 you have got to be kidding!

And whoever posted about oil didn't just say about oil IN the country they said a country that needed an oil pipeline and Afghanistan is exactly that country, it is strategically placed for transporting oil and gas from Turkemistan (sp) to a port in Pakistan for export all around the world. Kerching!! And ofcourse there's all the dollars (probably a couple of billion) from building the pipeline too. Kerching!!
he failed to comply with resolution 1441 which brought about the invasion of iraq.
the u.s invaded afghanistan as a direct result of 9/11,instead of the usual smoke and mirrors about oil please show me some actual evidence that the u.s. overnment were involved in 9/11.
1) Resolution 1441 was only passed because the americans gave specific assurances that it would NOT mean automatic military action. Hence why it was replaced by the term "serious consequences" instead AND hence why they tried but failed to get a 2nd resolution in March 2003 specifically seeking military action. You can find this in Resolution 1441 itself under Section B (Breaches and Use of Force) Sub-section 1. (The Question of Automaticity) which states amongst other things... France, Russia and other states brought pressure to bear during negotiations over the draft of resolution 1441 to ensure the resolution itself did not include authorisation for the use of force. Instead, it provides for the inspectors to report back to the security council any Iraqi non-compliance, and the security council to consider any such report.

2) The idea that Iraq wasn't complying with U.N. resolutions was and is a nonsense. If you read the chief weapons inspector to Iraq in the late 90's Scott Ritter he stated over and over again there were no weapons of mass destruction left in Iraq. Saddam had thousands of barrels of chemical weapons and they were all destroyed but the U.S. used a technicality where the Iraqi's couldn't tally the paperwork on 2 barrels of anthrax (out of 1000's destroyed) as an excuse to seek invasion. The americans knew full well that the iraqui's couldn't prove every single barrel had been accounted for, these are arabs FFS. AND here's the real cherry on the cake, no matter how evil Saddam was his priority like most tyrants is to hold on to power - if he had any weapons of mass destruction you think he'd hold on to them so that his country gets invaded and he loses power and ends up in a hole in the middle of the desert - WHAT WOULD BE THE POINT? He even gave up his Masud rockets 2 weeks before the invasion - that shows how desperate he was. Oh and ofcourse we all know there were no WMDs anyway!

3) There are plenty of countries around the world that don't comply with U.N. resolutions, they don't get invaded. Israel has not complied with 60+ resolutions in the last 40 years. I don't see any plans to invade Israel to enforce those resolutions, instead we negotiate on those very issues that the U.N. has ordered action on - strange that.

In answer to your last point I'm not going to show you any involvement of U.S. government in 9/11 as I don't believe there was any.

:thumb: very good points those. I was going to make the point that other countries including Israel have blatantly ignored UN resolutions in the past. using it as an excuse for the invasion of iraq is pretty poor....
