Walcott has done what he can to be fair but he is absolutely not a lone striker, in a game such as this he should be running down the wing and getting the ball in. Long balls down to him have either been nowhere near him or knocked away by the head of the taller defenders. England have missed The Whore and Dimples, definitely. |

I'm gutted for the babies - although... the games against Sweden/Germany/Finland may have been a warning

I think Germany must have had an off game that match.Poor England. They just didn't play well enough and I think silly suspensions have cost them in the end but the central midfield has been crap in terms of nobody to put their foot on the ball and pick out a pass in all of the matches. I thought that's what Noble was there for but he's hardly been in the games. Walcott was never going to work as a lone striker and when he did get one on one he stuffed it up. That keeper today was shite though, too slow to come off his line for the first, complete hen up for the second and through his legs for the third. Ozil run them ragged all game, why Pearce didn't see it coming and stick a marker on him i've no idea. Still it was a good effort overall in the tournament.

I think the tactics let England down in the end. Most efficient defence in the tournament versus Walcott, who wasn't able to use his pace to great effect because Germany defended well. Balls whipped into the box weren't much help either because our players are so little ![]() The goalkeeper wasn't solid enough, I agree there. Where the hell was Joe Lewis?? England have the defence to play well in most parts but when chasing a lead there is no one in the middle to slide through a lush pass. I actually think today England could have done with The Whore and Dimples Campbell and Baby Theo on the wing, sliding passes in. Shame ![]() Ah well, never mind *sigh* |

Yeah trouble is Pearce is tactically inept and doesn't know how to change it when things go wrong...he'd never have gone 4-4-2 to get Walcott some support. I dunno, that's the same keeper who played in the 1-1 group game draw where they put it through his legs as well. |

Lewis has more experience and in a final that's what you need. Thing is, I heard that both Hart and Lewis will not be too old to play for the U21s, not sure how true that is. England desperately needed more support upfront. Walcott had barely anything to do because the ball was barely reaching him. Pearce did change things in the Finland game didn't he I think Theo was overhyped in the tournament because he was the player the clubs were talking about beforehand and he was the player they watched the closest. It's a real shame the whore and dimples couldn't play because there was a lot less talk about them and two of them with Theo would have been harder to deal with. I think Pearce would have changed things if he had more options.

What club does that other keeper play for? I think the cut off for the next tournament is the new year so as long as they are still 21 by then, they should be eligible. He got the ball more i nthe first half but had to take on three players because there was nobody near so why not change it at half time? That change was forced on him by the red card. |

Tadpole's Excrement

Another part of let England down in that game was the fact that every time we put a ball across the front of the goal, nobody got on the end of it. How many times did we put a ball across the box that was just too far ahead of the strikers? We had the ball in the right areas a lot but rarely tested the keeper. Milner let us down too, the greedy git. Dribbled right into a crowd of players and lost the ball all second half (although he was one of the best in the first). |

Didn't watch it but apparently they drew 1-1 away to Greece and the goalkeeper kept them i nthe game. It'll take them a bit to find their feet because of all the players that have dropped out after being with them for the past few years. |
