Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering making an offer for young striker Moussa Dembele, according to a report in the British tabloid The Daily Mirror.

The 21-year-old has found the back of the net six times in 14 games for Dutch outfit AZ, helping them to the summit of the Eredivisie table this season.

The Wilrijk-born forward, who can play on the wing as well as up-front, impressed for Belgium during the 2008 Olympics, scoring three goals in six appearances.

"He needs to improve but has the attributes to play in England or Spain," Louis van Gaal, Dembele's manager at AZ, is quoted as saying.

if your gonna buy a striker buy class, otherwise you will be left with lots of strikers who cannot score prolifically. still at 5.5 mill its worth a look at.

Cesc Fabregas has handed Arsenal a boost by revealing that he could be back in action for the final eight Premier League games of the season.

The Gunners are currently three points behind fourth place Aston Villa, so the Spanish international could yet play a key role in determining whether they qualify for next season's Champions League.

Since the 2004-05 campaign, the 21-year-old has not played less than 45 games in one season and last year he weighed in with 13 goals for the north London club.

The 5ft 9in midfielder is extremely eager to add to his 21 Arsenal appearances this term and improve upon his solitary goal scored so far.

"If everything goes to plan, I will be back in action for Arsenal in four weeks," Fabregas told The Sun.

"That will leave me plenty of time to make sure this season is not a complete write-off - for me or for the club.

"Tomorrow will be exactly 11 weeks since I ruptured my medial ligament during Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the Emirates.

"It has been the longest and most frustrating lay-off of my career. I cannot remember any time in my entire life when I have gone so long without kicking a ball.

"Nothing is definite yet but I’ve got one eye on the home game against Manchester City on April 4 for my return.

"If we can get past Roma in Wednesday’s [Champions League] second leg I’d certainly hope to be back in time for the first leg of the quarter-finals the following midweek.

"I genuinely believe I will return fitter and stronger than ever as a result of the first long break of my professional career. For the past five years I have never had more than one month’s rest.

"I am only 21 but have already played more than 250 games for Arsenal and Spain. So maybe the injury was my body’s way of telling me to take a break."

Barcelona president Joan Laporta believes Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas would be a 'big player' for the club.

Fabregas has repeatedly been linked with a return to Barcelona, having originally left the Catalan giants as a 16-year-old to join Arsenal.

Reports have claimed that Barca will launch a big-money bid to bring the midfielder back to Camp Nou at the end of the season.

Though Laporta would not be drawn on any imminent attempt to sign Fabregas, he expressed his admiration for the 21-year-old.

"Although he is with another club, I have always praised Fabregas," Laporta told Spanish radio station Punto Radio.

"He was born in Catalonia and has become a better player since leaving the club.

"But I feel he has this club at his heart and understands the type of passing football we like to play.

"The technical staff will decide on any movement for him, but there is no doubt he would be a big player for us."

Fabregas is currently sidelined with a knee injury suffered against Liverpool in December, but the Spain international is targeting a comeback early next month
