Liverpool To Bid For Bendtner?

Reds boss Rafa Benitez is keen to add depth to his forward line over the summer, and reports from England claim he is considering a shock swoop for the Danish youngster.

The 20-year-old has received limited opportunities with the Gunners due to the emergence of Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor, with whom the Dane has had a rather drastic falling out.

Bendtner has generally struggled to live up to his billing as one of the most promising young strikers in Europe, although late last season he exhibited glimpses of his significant potential.

Wenger will be reluctant to sell given the respective injury issues of Robin van Persie and Eduardo da Silva, not to mention the growing uncertainly surrounding Adebayor’s future at the Emirates.

But Benitez will almost certainly have to replace the unsettled Peter Crouch, and is willing to offer ₤6million for a player Wenger snatched virtually free of charge from Copenhagen outfit Kjøbenhavns Boldklub.

The deal would prove something of a coup if it went through, given that almost all Premier League clubs flat-out refuse to trade with their rivals these days – as evidenced by Benitez’s failure to secure defender Gabrielle Heinze from Manchester United last summer.

He is 20 so its a bit stupid knowing Wengers record with young players to write him off as a top player

I actually think he would be a great partner for Torres. Bendtner is going to be a great player. Maybe we can do a swap deal for Babel?

i know hes 20 and i know of wengers high succes rate with youngsters but none of that means he'll be a major success. just feel from what ive seen (yes i know he can get better) but just feel he'll end up a good striker at best and nothing more.. i mean if he was playing for a championship side.. you wouldnt see wenger, fergie or any of the top 4 managers going in for him.. and for a good reason too.

That reason being becuase they would hold them to ransom also both Chelsea and now Liverpool have been interested so its not just Wenger that thinks he will be a top player.

Thats the point exactly he has been used as a sub when he has started he has scored scored the winner aggainst everton scored one aggainst Derby even as a sub he has scored aggainst Spurs and Villa he has scored more i just can't remember them and he can't be expected to make an instant impact from being a sub

Also yes they would hold them to Ransom for alot more that 5mill
