Coventry City are staring administration in the face after potential takeover talks stalled.

A consortium led by ex-Manchester City man Ray Ranson had reportedly been close to striking a deal that may have staved off the threat of administration.

However, the Co-Op bank, which is owed £18million by the club, blocked the bid by SISU - the investment company behind Ranson.

Sky Blues chairman Joe Elliott has admitted there is little time left to revive takeover talks with the players' wages due.

"We have reached crisis point," explained Elliott. "The clock was always ticking and we have negotiated hard."

Should Coventry go into administration a ten-point deduction would leave them third bottom in the table and facing the real threat of relegation to League One.

Dowie is a really good manager, plays good football too :o . Charlton panicked and sacked him after 10-12 games, Pardrew had round 24-25 games to keep them up and did'nt

Dowie good manager. It's never been heard before! :o

Do you think they will be placed in administration? Might have to sell some of your players in January.

Ah flak, he did an unbelievable job with Palace getting them promoted and they were unlucky to get relegated. Charlton did'nt give him enough time and he is doing really well with us considering the circumstances

Think administration is very likely, take over talk has been going on for a year now and still nothing concrete

So you think that the stick he receives is unjust?

Shame. :( It's a viscious circle in the lower leagues with having to sell your best players and facing bankruptcy.
