I think that Barry deserves to keep his place based on his previous performances and the balance he brings to the team. BUT I would play Lamps instead of "Hollywood" Gerrard!! It's not just that Lamps scores goals but he's involved all game. Gerrard generally is awful...can't pass, positionally niave but every now and again he does something special (but again not as frequently as Lamps) and everybody forgets how for the other 89 minutes of the game he was dire!! |

Hmmm i'm not so sure Gerrard is as bad as you make out but I do think Lampard is more suited to England as well but I can't see Gerrard being dropped ever with him being vice captain. |

Lost your brain today ManU? Gerrard is the hard worker in the team and has formed an exceptional partnership with Barry. Gerrard does chip in with goals and his Hollywood balls don't work all the time, but when they do they work perfectly. Then there's Barry, a pinpont passer with good vision, an eye for goal. Not great defending with the ball but Gerrard does that for you. So basicly any weakness that one play has the other person makes up for, the chemistry between them is blossoming, so why break them up anyway? |

Lets not also forget that Gerrard is Captain whilst Terry is out, do we want both of our captains out of the team too? |

gerrard is better, tackler, passer, leader, far better awareness of players around and quicker, lampard has been rubbish for england b4 the last world cup,to even contemplate putting him ahead of gerrard is utter stupidity(regardless of weather hes vice captain or not |
